A coup that you probably missed
...Unless you're involved in the publishing industry.
Here's what's going on, with Amazon.com playing the drunken frat boy to Print-On-Demand Publishers' ugly girl home alone on a Saturday night.
And in case you're interested, yes it is affecting me and my book sales. My reaction is here, complete with a troll commenter whom I strongly suspect to have Amazon ties.

Wow. What a load of…
Wow. What a load of shitheads.
And yes, the troll does sound like a reflexive defender of Amazon. Sure, a deal's a deal, and at times during a deal, either party is able to change the rules.
That applies in practice between parties of relatively equal stature, but looks like crass bullying when done as Amazon is now doing.
Man. It's rare that my envy at your actual successful career as a writer of fiction turns around into "thank God I'm a freelance content generation drone that doesn't have to deal with THAT."
But, thank God I'm a freelance content generation drone that doesn't have to deal with THAT.
And, I realize to my horror, that I haven't yet ordered a copy of The Milkman. Guess I better get that done and support my partner in crime in his actual successful career as an actual successful writer.
