Best. Show. Ever.
Have you ever seen a TV show so intense you thought you were going to puke? I have, now. Battlestar Galactica is the best show on TV, probably the best sci-fi series EVAR, and not back on the air until January. That's a long time to hold it in.
Seriously... does anybody else watch that show? How can you not?

I've not seen it, but I believe NDR has religion about it.
It's just thinly disguised pc
It's just thinly disguised pc commie agitprop.
I loved it, though. The Ceylons are much more interesting than in the original, and there is no obnoxious robot dog with mop-headed kid in tow.
Ha! As a kid I auditioned
Ha! As a kid I auditioned for the part of Boxie--a school friend of mine got the part.
Galactica 2.0, however, rocks without Boxie. Poor production values, sparse dialogue, but the perfect foil for discussing all sorts of things, including religion and the use of military power.
The thing I dug most about
The thing I dug most about the mini-series/pilot was the fact that only the old stuff worked. Imagine that the chinese invade and all we can get to work is the stuff the Confederate Air Force flies at air shows - P-51 Mustangs, etc.
I'd have to say that despite some flaws (and the low production values aren't necessarily flaws) this is probably the best sf series going, maybe ever.
I haven't seen firefly, and I'm not counting Twilight Zone/Outer Limits/und so weiter. But I can't think of another sf show that I liked as much.
Final ep is on TiVo waiting
Final ep is on TiVo waiting to go. Apparently is good. I've been wondering if the other battlestar was going to show up. That was probably my favorite story from the original.
While I'm not without criticisms, there's no doubt it's one of the greatest SF series ever. I think the "low production values" are not only not a weakness, but a strength. Sure, they screw up once in while, but I'm buying it.
Pretty tired of the Baltar/Cylon subplot, though.
I love the Baltar subplot. I
I love the Baltar subplot. I mean... the guy is directly responsible for the death of humanity, kicked an old woman off the last copter out, and now has maneuvered his way to the #2 spot in the civilian government all the while having mind-sex with the Cylon in his head who seems to think that he is carrying out God's plan. And yet, he seems so human and occasionally likeable too (or at least pitiable). That's awesome!
And the "low production values" that some mention also appear to me as strengths. Everything's old and crappy! Ha!!
And I'm serious about this being the best show EVAR from my POV. I seriously can't stand to miss an ep. Well, of Gilmore Girls too, but that's for the writing. And Lauren Graham.
NDR, your childhood in Anaheim must have been a strange and fascinating time. Jammed with Jane's, tried out for Galactica... you're the man, man.

The finale of Season Two was so good I had to bang my head against the wall repeatedly just so the pain would allow me to function normally again.
No argument from me, Johno - Best. Show. Ever.

No doubt about it. Best show
No doubt about it. Best show ever. I like that they made the original theme into the "Colonial Anthem."
Dave @ Garfield Ridge has
Dave @ Garfield Ridge has been beating this drum for a while, and sad to say, I've been ignoring him because, well, it requires that I watch TV, an activity for which I can generally find a preferable substitute.
However, THIS recommendation is even more emphatic than those he's done (a hard trick in itself), so I'm going to have to get acclimated to TV again, I guess.

Patton, definitely rent the complete season one on DVD, and make sure it's the US version complete with miniseries and all aired episodes. Totally, totally worth your time. And if Season 1 is any gauge, Season 2 will be on DVD before the snow falls on Minnesota. Hot shit. Hot, hot shit.
