Living amongst the Irish

Does anybody know how well one could live on a salary of say, 75,000 euro in Dublin?

I was doing the job search thing, and saw a few postings for technical writers in Dublin. I was curious, though Mrs. Buckethead was rather excited about the idea. If they offered relocation assistance, it might actually be worth considering for a couple years.

My younger brother did Dublin (as a Sales Engineer for a tech company), and Amsterdam, too. He enjoyed the gigs, and enjoyed being back in Chicago thereafter even more, but claims he wouldn't have traded the experience for anything.

Dublin has one of the highest standards of living in the EU, and is one of the most expensive cities to live in. It has a very competetive IT industry. It probably pays well, but Dublin is notoriously expensive.

NDR, Patton, thanks for the info. We're not exactly serious about it, but I did send my resume out to a couple, just as a test.

B,
Besides the obvious costs involved, you must consider your brawling skills. Are you up for the odd Irish-scale, Guinness-fueled melee?

Well, I did play rugby once upon a time... The important thing would be to get my drinking back up to par. I'd have to start a rigorous drinking regimen so as to be able to not hold my own, but at least not embarrass myself in front of the Irish.
