SpaceShipOne Makes Third Rocket-Powered Flight

Yeeeha!

Yee-Ha

Burt Rutan's Spaceshipone makes its third powered test flight, reaching an altitude of 212,000 feet. Kids, that's 41 miles, or over 80% of the way to space. NASA gives astronaut wings to anyone who makes it to fifty miles up.

And quite the snazzy looking conveyance at that.

I think it's great that as mankind reaches for the heavens, he is never so bold as to entirely disregard looking cool.

GL, it's never enough just to do something. You should do it with style. Which is one reason I never really liked the space shuttle.

Saw one of those shows once about the F117. It mentioned that after alot of research, it was determined that a pastelly shade of semi-purple is in fact the best color for night camo. As far as the human eye is concerned anyway.

None of which mattered, because real men don't fly purple planes. And that's why they're black.
