I washed out of a pre-Med program because of my tendency to get plum-pudding charts for the simplest experiments. By the end of the semester-- and yes, I lasted exactly one semester as an aspiring doctor-- my lab reports resembled this essay except without the redeeming qualities of humor and brutal honesty.
Chemistry kept me from being a doctor. That means chemistry has saved millions of lives!
