The Revolution will be Litigated
I believe the upcoming election will be litigated. Litigated, lawyered, and justicized until we're all half mad. We are going to learn about the election laws of Dullard County, Ohio and Shitheel Township, Florida in ridiculous sleepy detail. Insomniacs might pray for wakefulness again before it's all done.
But when will it all be done?
I'm asking for guesses. Will the election be sufficiently settled by Thanksgiving, say?

It depends. A state election
It depends. A state election must be sufficiently close to trigger some sort fo hooforah. It also must be a state that holds the balance of electoral votes. New Mexico was close, only 500 and some votes, but did not get the Florida treatment.
If the margins are big enough, the democrats won't have a credible case for starting post election shenanigans.
Of course, if they do start,
Of course, if they do start, it probably won't be finished before Christmas.

Oh... so it's a cinch that it'll be Democratic shenanigans?
I expect bofadem to act just like A-Rod did last night when he hacked the ball out of Bronson Arroyo's mitt.
And if it do happen, it won't be settled until 2008.

Our shanigans are cheeky and fun. Their shenanigans are cruel and tragic. Which means that not really shenanigans at all. Evil shenanigans.

So you're saying, J, that the fans will be throwing shit all over the field?
Sounds about right.
Not settled until 2008? Also right - there are still far too many maundering fuckwits who can't come to terms with the 2000 election. I see no reason for that to change this cycle.
Prediction: Sometime between Thanksgiving and Dec 13 (the actual election), I expect the hullabaloo to have ended.
