Over the line? You be the judge

"We should put this S.O.B. up against a wall and say 'This is one of our bad days,' and pull the trigger."

Thus reads an ad placed in a local paper in St. Petersburg, Florida by the St. Petersburg Democratic Club. Club Vice President Edna McCall said her club is in direct contact with John Kerry campaign.

"We're all working together."

It just caught my eye, as a rather stunning example of moonbattery. Not the kindof thing you'd expect in a small local rag, placed by a Club that under ordinary circumstances you would imagine to be composed of retired Democratic Matrons, etc. A sedate, rotarian like organization.

I do worry that the moveonstyle viral hatred is spreading through the Democratic party in ways that are not really good for the Democrats, or for the country. We do need a reasonable and loyal opposition for a two party system to function.

You could turn that formulation around, you know.

So you think local political offices and local papers are sedate rotarian-like affairs? You should put in your time at your local small political office or local paper. It's often been said that all politics is local, and it's precisely for reasons like this one right here. All that anger you see on the national stage is carefully vetted and modulated. Ma and Pa Pissybritches don't have that luxury or that obligation.

Move On appears to have learned at the feet of Lee Atwater and has closely followed the genius that is Karl Rove. We need both parties to be "reasonable and loyal opposition" in order for a two party system to function. I see no evidence of it happening. To paraphrase an old Southern phrase, they "spin" when the truth would sound better.

And yeah, Dame Edna McCall is a nutjob.

Wuzza goof on Dame Edna Everage, the crossdressing British TV host. Is all.

Now I KNOW someone on the list will give up the details ... aren't the British pretty cool with long guns? I very well could be wrong, but I think they only prohibit the private ownership of the hand-held variety. But I'm not British and am not up to speed on their laws. C'est la guerre.
