Yeah Right

John Kerry on the American Urban Radio Network:

President Clinton was often known as the first black president. I wouldn't be upset if I could earn the right to be the second.

That reads like an Onion quote. Pity it's not. I was unaware that blackness could now be conferred like some sort of honorary degree, though I'm not surprised that John Kerry, honorary Boston Brahmin, honorary Irishman, honorary Heinz, honorary Jew, honorary friend of the working class, and honorary person-who-feels-your-pain-and-mine, thinks so.

The chances of Kerry becoming an honorary black president are distinctly higher than those of Bush, whose opposition to scholarships for poor black inner city kids because they score 0.0000000000001% less on a test than a rich kid from the suburbs blows me away.

News flash: Affirmative action education programs ARE the right reparations. Deal with it.
