So Very Kerry
Drudge is flipping out over news that John Kerry is trying to fight off a media probe into a recent infidelity. Here's what Drudge has to say:
CAMPAIGN DRAMA ROCKS DEMOCRATS: KERRY FIGHTS OFF MEDIA PROBE OF RECENT ALLEGED INFIDELITY, RIVALS PREDICT RUIN
A frantic behind-the-scenes drama is unfolding around Sen. John Kerry and his quest to lockup the Democratic nomination for president, the DRUDGE REPORT can reveal.
Intrigue surrounds a woman who recently fled the country, reportedly at the prodding of Kerry, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned.
A serious investigation of the woman and the nature of her relationship with Sen. John Kerry has been underway at TIME magazine, ABC NEWS, the WASHINGTON POST, THE HILL and the ASSOCIATED PRESS, where the woman in question once worked.
MORE
A close friend of the woman first approached a reporter late last year claiming fantastic stories -- stories that now threaten to turn the race for the presidency on its head!
In an off-the-record conversation with a dozen reporters earlier this week, General Wesley Clark plainly stated: "Kerry will implode over an intern issue." [Three reporters in attendance confirm Clark made the startling comments.]
The Kerry commotion is why Howard Dean has turned increasingly aggressive against Kerry in recent days, and is the key reason why Dean reversed his decision not to drop out of the race after Wisconsin, top campaign sources tell the DRUDGE REPORT.
Well, just when we all thought it was settled...
If this is true, then Kerry is a complete moron. If you can't keep it in your pants when you know a bazillion reporters (not to mention Republican oppo research teams) are going to be scrutinizing what you had for dinner twenty years ago, you don't deserve to be president.

It's Drudge, so I'm going to wait and see.
" If you can't keep it in your pants when you know a bazillion reporters (not to mention Republican oppo research teams) are going to be scrutinizing what you had for dinner twenty years ago, you don't deserve to be president."
So that pretty much rules out most of the presidents of the 20th century, not that I'd quibble with you overmuch.
Well, before the last quarter
Well, before the last quarter century or so they knew that those gajillion reporters weren't going to be looking, so that rules them back in. Nowadays though? Seriously, that's a major impulse control problem. The morality of the thing is another issue.
True, its Drudge, but he's right more than half the time, I'd guess.
Interresting, although if
Interresting, although if there's one thing Clinton proved, it's that you can have a total lack of impulse control and still get elected. Twice. Not that it's good, but I wouldn't count my chickens just yet...
I was thinking more on the
I was thinking more on the lines of Gary Hart, who made this error during the run up to the convention.
Drudge has had a pretty good
Drudge has had a pretty good track record on big stories so far. It seems that when a whole mess of reporters get told their story won't run for some hush-hush reason, they squeal ASAP to whoever will listen. If this story is true, Drudge no doubt got lots of calls from reporters from the "Major Media Outlets."
Gary Hart. "Error" is an understatement, Mr. 'Head. Damn married fool challenged two Miami Herald reporters who had hung out behind his Capitol Hill townhouse all night until he slid his girlie out the back door. So they did report the story. And now he's a footnote in our nation's history. Didn't Donna Rice pose for Playboy?
Oh, I'm with Buckethead on
Oh, I'm with Buckethead on this one. If it's true, this is a serious problem for Kerry, which may push a lot of potential voters to John Edwards (I don't see many folks jumping back on the Howard Dean bandwagon). In the end, it may end up doing the Dems a favor: in my book, Edwards is the only Dem candidate with real charisma and panache.
