Right Poland

Conservatives have kicked the commies to the curb in Poland. However, the two parties that together garnered a majority of the votes fell out over distribution of high-level posts in the new government. But hey, at least the commies are out.

B,
I don't know that commies are ever cleansed from Euro governments.

Even though their political power might have been reduced, they're still around somewhere- even if it's as Assistant to the Vice Secretary to the Minister of Hardwood Forestries Management.

B,
I wonder too what Euro-based press mean when they mention a "right-wing" political party. I think a typical Euro right-winger, to American eyes, looks like about half a commie anyway.

I wonder if the general problem, for lack of a better term, with Euro politics is the preeminence of the state over the individual.

About right. Raffi of Crescat Sententia (a Frenchman) got 3/5ths of the way through a planned 5 part series on being an American conservative in Europe that is fairly illuminating on this point.
