$23 Billion Dollars Will Buy You One Huge-Ass Tinfoil Hat
The Washington Post is reporting that the Pentagon's "black" budget for next year (that's "double-secret" to us Deltas) is a near-record $23.2 billion dollars.
Observations that spring eagerly to mind like Labrador pups called to the feedbowl:
- Wow. At any price, that's a lot of hammers!
- So is that all for Total Information Awareness, or is some of that for field trips, too?
- What does this administration hope to gain from such opacity? Bush & co. have already squandered a lot of goodwill by keeping unnecessary secrets.
- Star Wars, anyone?

On the other hand, it could
On the other hand, it could pay for a six-month vacation for the army in Iraq.
Keep in mind that deficit
Keep in mind that deficit financing in this country is currently around $150 billion a year. That pays for a shitload of stuff, if we weren't wasting it on interest payments. Bush's massive deficits are going to increase this to a massive $300 billion or more over the next ten years, right when the baby boomers start retiring. That's right, kids -- the first couple thousand bucks you pay in taxes are going to go straight to interest.
The national credit card is being run up to alarming levels, and the interest is piling on. Bush is the loan shark's best buddy ever!!!
