Dude, Skid Row?
Dude, Skid Row?
Which Bootsy Collins?
Which Bootsy Collins?
NDR, the WHOLE Bootsy Collins
NDR, the WHOLE Bootsy Collins. Bootsy Collins the 17 year old writer of "Sex Machine" and architect of the greatest funk workout of all time, "Give It Up or Turnit Loose '70." The 21-year old Funkadelic bassist. The leader of the Rubber Band and inventor of the Space Bass. Muse to gangstas and freaks and weirdos, long may his freak flag fly for he is the Long Song. The whole thing. Long may he rule.
OK, I'll bite. Yes, Skid Row.
OK, I'll bite. Yes, Skid Row. Their only sin was bad timing. Although the record is a bit uneven, some lyrics are cliche, and the production shaky, there's at least four bona fide classics on there: "18 and Life," "Youth Gone Wild," "I Remember You," and "Little Sister." Moreover, it's a fun-ass record to listen to!
Moreover, once over, their next record kicked ass.
So except for the timing of
So except for the timing of the release, some cliche lyrics, shaky production, and general unevenness all 'round, it's a good record...?
It sounds like the bit from "Life of Brian", the "What have the Romans ever done for us?" bit.
But you know, I kid because I love.
If it makes you feel better, you can make fun of me for my Thin Lizzy or Blue Oyster Cult best-ofs. Or my one viking metal record (Bathory).
Vikings!

I didn't think of musicals
I didn't think of musicals for the favorite music movie question. My favorite music movie is therefore The Blues Brothers.
It was a tough call. A movie
It was a tough call. A movie with music in it, or about musicians, as opposed to a musical. I overthought it and ended with that.
Blues Brothers was a great choice though. DVD has alot more John Lee Hooker in it, and some minor plot points are better explained.
