A post not about religion

...well, that's not exactly true.

Congratulations to the Saugus, MA little league team, who have made it to the US Championship game in the Little League World Series.

Despite the perhaps-deserved long-view theorizing and cranky little-league bashing that one hears, it's awesome, just awesome, to see a bunch of kids from up the road play so well under so much pressure. The crying, joyous parents is just icing on the cake.

Good luck, kids. (I'd like to say,) If you win the series, dinner's on me at Kowloon out on Route 1*, (but I can't.)

*Disclaimer. If you win the series, dinner is NOT on me, but I'll sure be happy for you.

For your sake, and for the sake of many other suffering fans in your area, we should pray for the Red Sox as well. But only if getting them to the series does not interfere with an Indians pennant bid.

The second largest religion in America, and arguably the most significant, should also bend its efforts to establishing a mission church in the Nation's capitol. The mission to the heathen in Montreal is clearly failing, and those spiritual resources could be better used closer to (my) home. Let the Senators be reborn! (Again, as long as they are in the National League, so as not to interfere with the Indians.)
