The first successful English settlement in the New World wasn't until 1607. I can't trust a satirist who is off target by over two centuries.

three li'l things there. 1) you forgot the Spanish, 2) I seem to remember a certain amount of contact taking place between American and European natives in 1492, certain of which ended badly.... and 3) I'm not so sure that "homeland" in this context encompasses whitey, reenforcing the 1492 date.

5

Yes Johno, but Homeland Security doesn't encompass the island of san salvador, or any of the places Columbus went. You can push it back a bit because the Spanish were in Florida in the mid fifteen hundreds, but it's still wrong.

But who am I kidding? The United States represents everything that is evil, pernicious and greedy in the world. Everything that is bad is bad because we made it that way.

6

Buckethead, you're right that the sentiment expressed in the shirt is absurd, but any black-and-white picture of old rifle-bearing Indian men gets a big thumbs-up from me.

7

That's pretty much where I'm at too. And pls B, don't lump me in with the Chomskyites. The Dutch did some bad things too, and I recognize that.

8

Yeah, us and the dutch. They're Robin to our Batman in the cause of visiting evil on the benighted third worlders. Don't forget the Belgians, though. They may be small, but they made up for it by trying real hard. And the damn Norwegians with their whale slaughtering. But aside from that, it's all sweetness and light.

9

Well, Norway is forgiven for killing the beautiful whales because they're more socialist than we are.

11

... God dammit. NORWAY is more socialist.

Though I guess whales are sort of commie too. What with the... um... forced redistribution of wealth.
