I didn't spend a whole lot of time in Washington - just a little trip into Vancouver right across the river from Portland, OR. I'd love to visit Maine, though. Based on existing plans, I will add Nevada to my map this summer. I still need to buy a mid-sixties convertible Cadillac boat and drive across country.

Yeah, alot of these states were passed thru on the way to another state. NV in the summer?! Holy heatwaves, Batman.
I've not spent alot of time in ME, but one memorable trip was to Acadia Natl Park- gorgeous. Pack snow chains for your Caddy.
I bet though that ME and WA/OR are not terribly different: tremendous poverty, alot of unemployed loggers, an abundance of flannel, an overabundance of Quebecois (in ME anyway), and plenty of rocks, fog, and gloom for everyone. I dig it.
